Christmas outfit ideas 2012

So it's getting close to Christmas which is really exciting and to kick December off in the festive mood, I'm posting this guide to perfect Christmas outfit ideas. I'll post three outfit ideas for different Christmas scenarios. Also later on I'll be posting a gift guide so look out for that.

Scenario one - Christmas Shopping

Outfit idea one -

Sweatshirt - Topshop Trousers - New look Shoes - Topshop Necklace - Dorothy Perkins Clutch - Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins

This ensemble is very casual, and simplistic but still very stylish. I love how laid out it feels with the chunky knit over the leather look trousers. I also adore the glam accessories such as the studded loafers and especially the Kardashian clutch (Which is on my Christmas list!) Also the gold collar adds a touch of sophistication.
 Outfit idea two -

Sweatshirt - owntherunway.co.uk Skirt - Topshop Tights - Topshop Boots - Zara Bag - missrebel.co.uk Earrings - Republic Ring - Republic

This is a more modern take on a Christmas Shopping look, the stud detailing on the boots, bag and sweater make it very edgy. I would tuck the sweater into the faux leather skater skirt to give it a polished yet stylish feel. I adore these boots from Zara, they are fabulous. I also really love the peace ring as it's quite simple but very cute. The earrings add a nice touch to the ensemble and you could wear just one pair or if you have two piercings on each ear like myself you could wear two pairs.

Outfit Idea 3 -

Dress - Topshop Blazer - Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins Tights - Miss Selfridge Belt - New Look Bag - Topshop Loafers - Boohoo.com Lipstick - Paul & Joe (asos.com)

This is my final Christmas Shopping look and it's probably the most sophisticated of them all, it's quite formal due to the structured blazer and simple colour palette, however the flats and satchel give it more casual feel. I love the black and leopard print teamed with the bright red, it makes it stand out but still display a little colour in a stylish way. My favourite piece here is the structured blazer from the Kardashian Kollection which is on my Christmas list - isn't it gorgeous?

Scenario two - Christmas Carolling

Outfit Idea 1 -

Coat - Dorothy Perkins Sweatshirt - Topshop Leggings - Warehouse Chelsea Boots - asos.com Earmuffs - bankfashion.co.uk Mittens - Jane Norman

This look, screams cozy and uber-stylish! The bright red coat is a key piece that can carry you right through December, January and February. The leggings add a fashionable spin to the look and the thick, black jumper will keep you super cozy. The Chelsea boots are a simple shoe in comparison to the patterned leggings, but are extremely chic and great for wearing when walking long distances as they won't hurt your feet but still look amazing. Finally the touches of faux fur add a glamorous finish to the ensemble.
Outfit Idea 2 -

Coat - topshop Jumper - Topshop Jeans - New look Shoes - Republic Satchel - asos.com Headband - Topshop Snood - Topshop

This is a more 'urban' look from the oversized khaki coat with opposing sleeves and the high top wedges you can get a very urban feel. Paired with black skinny jeans to keep it simple it keeps the focus on these gorgeous knitted accessories. The knitted bow headband is uber-chic and the matching snood is adorable. I also love the oversized burgundy sweater which can be thrown over the skinny jeans and will keep you nice and toasty. Finally the satchel adds a finishing touch to the ensemble.
Outfit Idea 3 -

Coat - Mango Dress - New Look Undershirt - Republic Tights - Boohoo.com Boots - Asda Earmuffs - River Island Mittens/Gloves - Dorothy Perkins

Finally this is a more chic look for carol singing. The black lace bodysuit would be worn under the claret dress to keep you not only warm but looking fabulous. The lace on lace is a risk but in my opinion it's definitely one worth taking! The black tights are very simple and ensure that the gorgeous ankle boots with leopard print panels are fully admired. The key piece of this look is the gorgeous faux leopard fur coat. It's stunning. Although it is a little shapeless not to worry because the oversized, shapeless silhouette is very 'in' this season. The black earmuffs with embellishments are extremely chic and the knitted mittens are very adorable.

Scenario three - Christmas Party

Outfit Idea 1 -

Dress - desireclothing.co.uk Clutch - Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins Shoes - Republic Earrings - asos.co.uk Eye Make Up - Smokey eye using earthy tones

This Christmas party look is very glitz and glam, exactly what one should be! It has a very simple colour palette, Gold & Black, it screams glamorous. This dress is too adorable and for only £22 who can resist? I adore the gold shoes from republic they are uber-glam. The bow earrings are a cute touch and link with the bow on the dress and on the shoes. I love this little Kardashian clutch which can also be worn with a strap across your body which makes it both practical and stylish. However for a more evening look I would use it as a clutch. Wear with a natural smokey eye for an effortlessly gorgeous look.

Outfit Idea 2 -

Jumpsuit - Tesco Shoes - H&M Bag - Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins Belt - Republic Nail Polish - Topshop

This look is for the fashionably fierce. For a Christmas party most people would reach for a glam dress, but why not rock a glitzy jumpsuit? This simple one from F&F at Tesco is tres chic. The embellishment on the shoulders are beautiful and give a hint of sparkle without being too over the top. The plunging neckline is very glamorous. This look is completed with glamorous accessories like the glitzy shoes, clutch and belt. To finish this look add a sweep of glittery eyeliner and a coat or two of the very glittery Topshop nail polish and you're ready to dazzle your party guests!
Outfit Idea 3 -

Dress - House of Fraser Shoes - axparis.co.uk Clutch Bag - Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins Tights - Miss Selfridge Earrings - asos.co.uk Lipstick - Clinique

This is one of my favourite looks throughout this post, I adore the black, red and leopard print all together, it screams fabulous! This dress is rather Gothic but girly, I love the pattern around the bodice. I would wear this with black tights (as above) to leave the accessories to do the talking. This Kardashian clutch is uh-mazing and is on my Christmas list! The leopard print shoes are to die for, scattered with studs you can channel the edgy look, whilst looking glamorous and put together. This look is completed with accents of red, such as the earrings and the Clinique lip stick.

Scenario four - Christmas Baking

Outfit Idea 1 -

Sweater - udobuy.com Leggings - houseoffraser.com Vest top - H&M Socks - Disney Store Slippers - Republic

When Christmas baking, you don't have to look glamorous so in this look I've made it very casual but very Christmassy. To start off with simple black leggings and a simple blue vest top. Then layered over this a very bright Christmassy jumper. To finish it off add these adorable mickey mouse socks peeking out over these fabulously Christmassy slippers from Republic.

Outfit Idea 2 -

Jeans - John Lewis T-shirt - Topshop Socks - M and Co Slippers - H&M Waist belt - Mango

This look is a little more glamorous but still extremely simple. Bright jeans for a chic look with a simple, loose grey top. Cinch in your waist with a gold belt for a little extra glam. Then for a Christmassy finish wear these super comfy and cute slippers over these adorable little socks with pom-poms.

Outfit Idea 3 -

Shorts - John Lewis T-shirt - New Look Cardigan - chiarafashion.co.uk Slippers - houseoffraser.co.uk Tights - Topshop Nail Polish - Essie

My final Christmas baking look is a lot more glam than the other two but is still very Christmassy. To start off with layer the Claret tights under the uber-chic shorts, tuck in the Reindeer top and throw over the studded cardi. This will be super comfortable, super chic and super Christmassy! Finish the look with these gorgeous little slippers, again with pom-poms for extra cutesy factor and then paint you nails with this pop of colour nail polish from Essie.

Scenario five - Christmas Day

Outfit Idea 1 -

Sweater - John Lewis Leggings - New Look Slippers - Debenhams Collar - Etsy Nail Polish - nails inc

Depending on your Christmas tradition your outfit will either be the epitome of glam or very chilled out. This look is very chilled out but still stylish. Tuck your patterned leggings into these adorable slippers, throw on your oversized black shirt and finish with this studded collar for a comfy yet gorgeous look. You could also paint your nails with this very glam nail polish for a glitzy finish.
Outfit Idea 2 -

Top - H&M Skirt - motelrocks.com Knee High Socks - Next Shoes - Office Nail wraps - Topshop Lipstick - Nars

This look is in the middle of the glam scale. The statement piece here is the stunning leopard print, bodycon skirt. Tuck your collared shirt into this and then pair with simple black tights and these gorgeous wedges. I adore these wedges, I've been looking for an outfit to include them in because I desperately wanted to show ofd these shoes. Something about them screams chic to me, maybe it's the muted black shade, or the large bow on the strap, they're simply wonderful., To finish this look add glitzy nail wraps and perfect that pout with this bright red lipstick.

Outfit Idea 3 -

Dress - Dorothy Perkins Tights - Miss Selfridge Shoes - udobuy.com Necklace - H&M Ring - River Island Belt - asos.co.uk Hairband - Claire's

My final look is the most glam. Start off with the claret, velvet dress for a very on-trend look, cinch in the waist with the leopard print belt, layer over black tights, fasten the straps on the gorgeous shoes, clip up the studded necklace, slip on the bow ring and slide on the glittery headband and you're good to go! This look is fabulous, glamorous and totally gorge. I'm a sucker for huge bows in the hair so I've added my own personal spin on this, but you could wear with an embellished alice band or a bedazzled hair grip, whatever suits you best.

I hope this post inspires your outfit choices this Christmas and I hope it leaves you looking and feeling gorgeous! Merry Christmas!

A Winter Wonderland Of Fabulous Fashion Looks

This post will help you get ready for the winter in style! filled with fashion secrets and this season's hottest looks, you'll be fabulously on-trend. I'm so excited to inform you that this post is a collaboration between myself and the talented Anya Sarre!

Anya Sarre is one of Hollywood’s most influential trendsetters. A nationally recognized celebrity stylist, Sarre is known for her impeccable eye and ability to tie any look together with the perfect accessory. Named “Best Television Fashion Stylist” for her appearances on Entertainment Tonight, The Insider and countless other media outlets, Sarre is the go-to fashion expert for Hollywood’s biggest celebrities.

The best-kept fashion secret is simple: when you feel great, you look great.  That’s why all the major celebrities keep on top of what’s hot in the fashion world.  Just like you, they know that when they’re rocking a great look, their confidence level soars.

With this holiday season’s exciting fashion index, you don’t need an expensive assistant to look hot-off-the-charts fantastic.  Fun and flattering, it’s easy to assemble an effortless look that will keep you chicly warm on chilly, winter days, and, the good news is that with a few twists, you can propel that same look into glamour-infused holiday nights.  So girl, start your engine – it’s time to get your diva on!

If you want the dish, the cutest and simplest way to get “the Look” this holiday season is to invest in colorful and shimmery skinny jeans.  To get your day groove on, pair with one of those black sweaters from seasons past, preferably a thin one with a little more glam potential.  Finish it off by pulling on a low-heeled bootie shoe and let the color of the jeans do the work.

When it’s time to bring a bit of edgy flair to the table and move this adorable look into the evening hours, ditch the booties in favor of colorful stilettos and a matching belt.  Slide into those chic shoes and cinch your sweater with the belt.  With a sweep of glittery shadow on your lid, you’ll be ready for your shining entrance in minutes.

Jeans - awear.com Jumper - bankfashion.co.uk Booties - Topshop Belt - espirit.co.uk Shoes - Kiara at shoedazzle.com Eye make-up - Shimmery natural colours with black liquid liner

This simple look will have you strutting through your holiday calendar with the easy glamour you want, but the biggest holiday event of the season demands a bold, belle-of-the-ball inspired look: the hot snow princess.

Pop out of the sea of holiday colors by glamming up all white sophistication with glittery accessories of gold or silver.  For over-the-top drama, create a flowing effect with a subtly sexy sheer overlay skirt or peek-a-boo top.  In this outfit, you can rest assured you will be front and center with all eyes looking appreciatively at you!

And why shouldn't they be?  If you know anything, it’s that a girl can never be too gorgeous.  This is the time of year to bedeck your beautiful self - not to let nippy weather nip your fashion sense.  With a few affordable, envy-inducing embellishment pieces, you’ll be enjoying a festive holiday season feeling your absolute best!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope it inspires you with outfit ideas!

New Shoes Review!

For my birthday my wonderful boyfriend bought me the most gorgeous pair of shoes!

Get them from: boohoo.com - but are sadly sold out now, however they still have them in the colours  Beige, Red and Blue which are worth taking a look at.

Cost: They were £40 but the other colours are now in the sale for either £35 or £30 (depending on the colour)

My views on the shoes...

Appearance: I think these shoes are perfect. They're black so I can wear them with pretty much anything. The stud detailing is gorgeous! It gives them and edgy feel and I feel powerful when I wear them which is important because you should feel good in the things that you wear.
Rating - 5/5

Stud detailing

Practicality: The shoes are quite high, and it looks as though your foot will be at a really uncomfortable angle, however they do have a concealed platform which makes them a lot more comfortable and easier to walk in. I wore them out to dinner in London and walked back to the apartment in them and didn't find them painful at all, the walk was probably around 15 minutes or so. These aren't an 'everyday' pair of shoes, I wouldn't recommend them for shopping or somewhere with a lot of walking.
Rating - 4/5

The Fit: Usually  I am a size 6 however they were sold out of size 6 and only had a size 7 so my boyfriend went with a 7 instead and they're a perfect fit, they're not too big at all which I was surprised by, I'm glad I got a 7.
Rating - 5/5

Wear-ability: When buying a pair of shoes it's important to have something you can team with lots of things you already own, in order to get as much use out of them as possible and I think these are perfect for that, obviously not for a really casual outfit, but I can team them with my faux leather skater skirt, my Kourtney Skinny Jeans from the Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins, my faux leather shorts etc. there's lots of possibilities.
Rating - 5/5

Overall comments: Gorgeous, every girl who is fashion forward should own a pair just like these! They're so wearable and look amazing.

Overall Rating: 19/20

I hope you enjoyed this post,

5 MUST SEE looks of the week

1.
Who: Felicity Jones
Where: Attending a party at –miumiu–london pop-up members club at London’s Café Royal
Wearing: A black shirt with a white collar, a mirrored skirt, black tights and black court shoes
Let's see!

November 27 2012

Felicity's outfit is very simple but gorgeous. The Collared shirt is very simple, yet very sophisticated. I love the way she has kept the outfit very minimal to make the mirrored skirt really stand out. The mirrored detailing is very quirky but it looks super adorable! I also adore her slightly messy hair and simple make up, she looks gorgeous!

2.
Who: Harley Viera-Newton
Where: Monique Lhuillier’s store opening in New York
Wearing: Simple black tee, red lace skirt and peep toe shoes
Let's see!

November 27 2012

This look is fabulous, again a simple tee with a statement skirt. The lace pencil skirt really accentuates Monique's figure giving her gorgeous curves. Her Ombre hair looks gorgeous in loose waves and I love the simple black peep toes for a chic finish to this ensemble.

3.
Who: Amber Kuo
Where: 49th Annual Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan
Wearing:  Chanel pre-spring/summer 2013 mint green dress paired with studded Louboutins
Let's see!

November 24 2012

Amber Kuo looks stunning. First of all I'll start off with my favorite part - the shoes. I'm a sucker for Louboutins and these are perfect! Studded Louboutins are absolutely gorge! They're edgy and fierce but still feminine and uber-stylish. Now the dress, everything is amazing, the colour, the detail, the cut - perfection. The cinched in waist shows off her curves, the colour looks adorable on her skin tone, The ruffles give it a youthful, almost doll-like feel. I love it.

4.
Who: Miranda Kerr
Where: New York
Wearing: Denim jacket, a white, collared shirt and a black skater skirt - paired with a felt hat, brown ankle boots and a ponyskin shopper
Let's see!

November 24 2012

Miranda knows what she's doing here, she looks glamorous but still very casual. Her simple white collared shirt and black skater skirt could be very 'school girl' but with the denim jacket thrown over, the ankle boots and the hat it gives a more boho vibe and then the ponyskin shopper ties it all intogether. I love the layed back feel this outfit offers but she still looks gorgeous and put together. Her simple, striaght hair with minimal make up just finishes this all of. 10/10 for a chic, city look Miranda!

5.
Who: Laetitia Casta
Where: Vogue Spain December Issue launch party
Wearing: Tiered claret dress with snake skin style detailing on the bodice
Let's see!

November 27 2012

This look made it into my top 5 for a number of reasons. Firstly how hot does Laetitia look?! Secondly, the colour of her dress is fabulous, it is a perfect autumn tone and it suits her to a tee. The cut of the dress is so flattering for her figure and the snake skin detailing is amazing. I also love the statement, gold earrings they're a glamorous touch to the outfit. Laetitia's hair is effortlessly chic, I love the simplicity of it. Finally her lipstick is stunning, I love the contrast between the deep, rich blast of colour against her fragile, doll-like skin tone. Laetitia looks simply breathtaking here.

Closet control : Key item #4

To have a gorgeous wardrobe is every fashionista's dream, having a huge variety of unique but on-trend ensembles at the ready is perfection. However to each wardrobe there are basics that are a must, no matter what you're personal style without these basics you're wardrobe won't be at its best, over the next few weeks I'll post various sections of the 'perfect' wardrobe with pictures, diagrams and helpful hints on how to achieve you're very own 'perfect' wardrobe.

This post is about the fourth key item which will help you build your 'perfect' wardrobe which is Black &White tops

Black &White tops are an essential in building your 'perfect' wardrobe because they're so versatile. You can dress them up or down and they're so simple. It's important to have a few different styles, cuts and shapes of black and white tops so you can easily suit them to the occasion you're dressing for. For example a vest top could be more formal, whereas a structured blouse is more formal. The best thing about black and white tops is the fact you can layer them so easily.

When Shopping for Black and White Tops it's best to go for simple, plain tops. Buy different styles though such as tight, structured, flared etc. so you have few different options, here are my top 5 styles of Black and White tops...
 1. Vest tops
These are essential for layering. You can wear them under a sheer blouse, tucked into a skirt, under a cropped shirt etc. There are so many different ways to layer them and they're so cost effective due to the fact they're not very expensive at all yet they last a long time and can be reused again and again in a variety of outfits.

2. Blouses
Blouses are important as they're more formal yet they can still be layered and dressed up or down. It's important to have both black and white blouses as you'll have a more options when choosing your outfit.

3. Long sleeved
Long sleeved black and white tops are important because they perfect for layering. Also they're great to tuck into a patterned skirt, then team with a necklace and a knitted cardigan, or you could tuck into high waisted shorts, throw on a cropped jumper and some converse and you've got a casual look.

4. Over-sized
Over-sized tops are great because they're very simple, versatile and comfortable; one of the most important factors in an outfit is how comfortable it is. Over-sized shirts can be worn in a variety of ways and are a simple piece to an ensemble.

5. Short Sleeved
Short sleeved tops are essential for layering and building up an outfit. They're also very useful for being a simple piece in an outfit  leaving the main piece in an ensemble to stand out. For example, if you wore a black short sleeved top and black tights with a wonderfully bright coloured Aztec print skirt, then the skirt would stand out due to the simple colour everywhere else.

Black and White tops are essential to building your 'perfect' wardrobe because they can be dresses up or down, they're extremely versatile and they're brilliant for layering. Look at my example here of how you can dress up and down a plain black tee...

This shows how a plain black long sleeved top can be transformed easily. For a casual look, pair I paired it with distressed, boyfriend jeans, black high tops, a khaki overcoat and a gold chain. This look is simple, urban and comfortable - perfect for a shopping trip or walk around the park. My next look is more formal, I paired the simple tee with a pale pink bubble skirt, a pale pink clutch, black tights, pale pink heels and a gold collar style necklace. This look is girly, glamorous and cute, perfect for a dinner out somewhere fancy!

So overall Black and White tops are should be versatile, simple and plain. This ensures they can be worn in a number of ways with a number of different garments, A few good ways to layer them:
-Tuck into a gorgeous skirt
-Wear under a skater dress
-Layer over casual jeans

I hope you this post inspires you and helps you on your way to creating your 'perfect' wardrobe

Ashleigh's questions for me...

1. What are your three biggest pet peeves?
One -  People that seek attention, it's just annoying, I can't understand why it's necessary.
Two - People who swear constantly, it's not 'grown up' it's foul!
Three - Too much/Patchy fake tan, there's a girl I know who has bright orange ankles it makes me cringe

2. Chocolate or peanut MnM's?
Chocolate, I don't like peanuts

3. If you could only wear one nail polish brand for the rest of your life, which one would it be and why?
It would have to be Barry M, they have a rainbow of colours which I adore. They also have lots of cool nail effects too, my favourite are the 'foil effects' especially the silver one

4. What's your staple clothing item that always makes you feel confident whenever you wear it?
My Burgundy coat from Primark with the faux fur collar and gold buttons, I feel instantly glamorous and it's a classy, finish touch to any look.

5. Winter or summer?
This is difficult! I love summer because there's no school, I can see my boyfriend as much as I like and we do so many fun things like go to the zoo, the beach, chill outside, and I love bright floral prints which are typically a summer thing. But Then winter is amazing too because there's Christmas, also my wardrobe takes a darker, more glamorous turn and I wear more leather, dark fabrics and gold beaded pieces. Also My boyfriend and I snuggle under blankets and watch Christmas movies, bake cookies and cuddle in bed to stay warm and watch television. I think I'll have to pick winter, also because I layer up more, meaning I wear more clothes :P

6. What's your favourite childhood film?
My favourite childhood film would have to be Space Jam, My older brother and I watched it countless times together

7. What song always gets you on the dance floor?
I don't tend to go anywhere with a dance floor :s But the song that always makes me get up and dance is Techno Fan by the Wombats, it's got such a good beat and the song makes me happy whenever I hear it.

8. Tea or coffee?
I dislike both, I'm all for aero hot chocolate!

9. If you could only shop in one high street store for clothing for the rest of your life, which shop would it be and why?
I would say H&M because it has some amazing items that really suit my style. Their denim range is really good and I could wear it forever! Also they do the most fantastic designer collaborations which are to die for!

10. Heels or flats?
Heels for the win! I'm short so I love to throw on heels as much as possible, also I find they look more elegant and instantly feel more glamorous and powerful. My boyfriend recently bought me the most gorgeous pair of spiked, shoe boots which I adore (I'll post about those later) and they are now my favourite pair of shoes.

11. Which person has inspired you the most throughout your life?
I would have to say my older sister Kerri. She's 8 years older than me and my memories of her when I was little were of her choosing my outfits, doing my hair or perfecting her latest make-up look. She taught me basic make-up techniques, how to put a good outfit together and how to be elegant. I'm grateful for the advice and tips she's given me not to mention all the beauty products and clothes. My other main inspirations are Lauren Conrad, Kim Kardashian and Tyra Banks.

Now my questions for you...

1. Most expensive item in your wardrobe?
2. What's your dream job?
3. What's your favourite pair of shoes that you own?
4. Your go to beauty product on a bad day?
5. Would you dye/bleach your hair?
6. Have any piercings?
7. Want kids when you're older?
8. Favourite music artist?
9. What do you like to eat as a snack?
10. Favourite country you've visited?
11. Chanel or Gucci?

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you do the Tag :)
