Must see product range: Revlon PhotoReady

As a make-up junkie the thing most important to me is a flawless base for gorgeous new styles of make-up. I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect foundation to give me a smooth, even base that doesn't look cakey or orange, but natural with a hint of photo-shopped perfection that is within budget. Revlon may have made that hunt a success with their new PhotoReady range...

Revlon PhotoReady Face Perfecting Primer - £11.99

The first step in creating the perfect base is to use a primer, this sets a fresh base to apply your make-up and keeps it on longer. Revlon's PhotoReady primer smooth and softens skin to create the perfect canvas. It also reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines.

Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Foundation - £12.99

The next step is a layer of foundation to create an even finish. This mousse formula foundation contains 'photochromatic pigments' that are supposed to minimise the appearance of flaws for a smooth poreless look. It comes in a range of 8 colours so you can find your perfect shade.

Revlon PhotoReady Eye Primer & Brightener - £9.99

The final step in creating a flawless base is the eye primer and brightener which can be used anywhere on the face for an instant pick-me-up. It brightens areas of the skin which gives you a glowing look.

I am hoping to purchase these products soon so I can see for myself what these products are like and put them to the test and see if the truly give a PhotoReady look

Rainy day pick me ups

Today in England it is raining cats and dogs and it is hard to feel glamorous in the rain, here is a guide on how to survive the rain:

Getting from A to B
On a rainy day travelling is the last thing you want to do but when there is a place you need to be there are some simple ways to maintain your look and ending up at point B looking presentable.
1. Tie your hair loosely in a low ponytail, slightly to one side, for me it's my right and let it rest down your shoulder.
2. Put on a coat with a hood and use the hood! Although it isn't always the most glamorous of options it will save your hair!
3. Always always always carry an umbrella in your bag, then you can whip it out when necessary.
4. When you arrive at your destination simply undo the ponytail and speedily rearrange your hair back into it's original style, pull of the coat and wrap your umbrella up in a small plastic bag and put back in your bag

Ways to pick up your mood
When it's cold and wet and windy outside it instantly puts me in a bad mood, however there some things that cheer me up, here are some ways you can cheer yourself up in the gloomy weather
1. Rock a bright lipstick
By wearing a bright pink lipstick, every time I check the mirror to check my make up it brightens my mood a little because the colour is so bright and pretty

Some gorgeous shades to try are:
Nicki Minaj Viva Glam £13.50
 Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick
MUA Shade 4 £1

Rimmel - Kate lasting finish lipstick shade 5 £5.49

2. Another way to pick yourself up on a rainy day is to wear pretty jewellery
I like to wear cute charm bracelets or big, chunky rings here are some cute ideas of jewellery you could try:
Accessorize abstract Leah ring £14
Abstract Leah Ring
This ring is gorgeous! I love how abstract the ring is. I also love the clash of the silvery gems and the gold coloured detailing. This sparkly ring will definitely raise your mood in the rainy weather!

Dollybowbow.co.uk  - Trinket charm Bracelet - Luck £7
Trinket Charm Bracelet - Luck
This bracelet is adorable! Dollybowbow is an incredible online store, also if you love the style of the site, check out the dollybowbow youtube channel for style and make up tips! Wearing this would instantly make me smile due to the cute little charms, also who knows maybe the lucky horse shoe charm, four leaved clover or wishbone will make the bad weather change?
RegalRose - Tea cup ring £6
Image of A Mad Tea Party. Ring
I j'adore this adorable little ring! It is so quirky and cute, and was inspired by Alice in wonderland and the Mad hatters tea party which is really cute. This would make me smile because of how delicate and adorable it is, for only £6 this ring is a must!

3. Another way to pick yourself up is to use a cute umbrella! It sounds silly but instead of having a plain umbrella, why not go for a more interesting umbrella like this cute ones...
New Look - Union Jack Umbrella £7.99

This umbrella will definitely stand out in the gloomy weather, this instantly makes me smile due to the bright colours and the fact that I love almost anything with the union jack on it and this year everybody seems to be very patriotic!
New look - Red spot frill Umbrella £8.99

I love how feminine and cute this umbrella is. Again it would definitely stand out in the dark, gloomy weather and would put a smile on anyone's face. A very pretty umbrella is a very good way to brighten your rainy day.
New look - Zebra crook umbrella £7.99

A more urban umbrella, Not as eye catching but still a very modern style. This would definitely still put a smile on my face in the rain due to the cool pattern, also tribal prints are very on trend right now!

These are most of my ideas for cheering yourself up on a rainy day and also how to maintain your stylish and glamorous look in the rain! Hope it helps.

New fashion trend alert: Sculptural wedges

Out with the boring wedges in with the fabulously new wedges. Perfect for Spring/summer 2012 sculptural wedges are forcing their way onto:

The red carpet...

(Victoria justice wears black sculptural wedges, showing just how fashion forward she is.)

The runway...

(These gorgeous takes on the trend popped up on the Alexander McQueen spring 2012 runway.)

And designer stores...
OPENING CEREMONY Sculptural wedge sandal
(These cute sculptural wedges are found a Browns fashion for £210)

As you can see this trend is appearing all over high end places, however this trend has yet to be spotted in high street stores and being worn out in local areas, I would love to get my hands on a pair of these gorgeous wedges, they are a modern take on a classic shoe and can be a key piece in any ensemble.

New beauty trend alert: bold eyeliner

An exciting new beauty trend is happening all over the UK; bold eyeliner!

Whether its a unique liquid liner look or a bold colour swept across the upper lash line everyone is rocking this brand new trend, here are some ways people have made the trend work for them...

I love the clash here of the thick electric blue line swept across the upper lash line and the jewel toned purple thinly lining the lower lash line, it looks gorgeous. This will really make your eyes pop on a night out and shows your creative and experimental side whilst still enabling you to look drop dead gorgeous!

This is very bold but elegant liquid liner look, the thick black eye liner would look gorgeous with an airbrush finish base and very natural lip colour. This look is bound to make a statement and will make your eyes appear bigger due to the definition this look will create by giving the illusion your eyes are bigger because of the flick that extends beyond your eye.

This layered look is amazing! Obviously not for every occasion but this look could be toned down for a more wearable look by using just two colours layered up or even one line that includes three colours alongside each other. However this look here is very on trend due to the bright clashing colours layered up. I also love the green liner on the lower lash line, this again could on it's own be an amazing take on the new trend.

This look is also becoming more and more popular, the double winged liner look. The model looks so elegant here and the double winged liner appears so gentle and girly, not a very subtle look and should not be used for casual occasions but for a formal event it would look stunning. This look is amazing with neutral cheeks and lips as seen above in the picture.

Again here is a double winged liner look however here it is more interesting with a less defined line and a shimmery gold shadow accenting the brow bone and swept across the lid. This could be worn on a formal occasion for an 'all-eyes-on-me look.'

This take on the trend is not extremely common and quite hard to achieve but is amazing all the same. I would describe this look a 'doodle liner' because of the added decoration and doodles to the eye. This look always has an average sweep of black, liquid liner that extends further than normal and then consists of any type of doodle which is usually an explosion of swirled lines extending from the average line. Hearts also appear to be a reoccurring idea with this trend.

This is quite a simple take on the trend and more suited for a casual occasion, one sweep of colour along the lower lash line and bold lashes. I will be experimenting with this take on the trend myself with the neon yellow eyeliner from models own, this would look amazing. I love how the colour used in this picture compliments the models eye colour.

This is another bold eyeliner look, the eyeliner here is very angular. It angles in at the inner corner of the eye and sweeps across the whole lid, it then angles out in a thick point just past the outer corner of the eye and finishes by sweeping back under the eye along the lower lash line. Again this take on the trend is not for a casual look and also not for those who are not confident enough to rock bold make-up looks, the model in this picture wears her hair in an up-do so the eyes are the main focus which is a good idea with this look.

Finally this picture shows a sweep of black liner along the upper lash line and then a thick line of yellow layered above it, this looks amazing but if you are recreating this look it is important to use bold colours as weak colours could wash you out. I also really love this look as it simple to do and looks gorgeous as long as the lines are straight and defined.

Overall this trend is quite bold and courageous, however there are takes on the trend suitable for people who are not as brave at experimenting with bright colours and new ideas, so practise a few ideas and rock this new trend!

My March Fashion wishlist 2012

This is a new idea I have had, every month I will post a current Fashion and then a separate Beauty wishlist. It will consist of 10 new products, accessories or garments that I would love to own, they will consist of designer and high street things (Fashion wishlist) or Drugstore or high end products (Beauty wishlist), enjoy :)

Number one - Jeffrey Campbell Lita's £120

I absolutely adore Jeffrey Campbell Lita's and these are my favourite style. As I have mentioned before I love America and everything about it so these Lita's -inspired by the American flag- are perfect! These shoes are very modern and give a very urban vibe. You can dress them up and wear them out in the evening or wear them in a casual way during the daytime. I have seen these all over the Internet and I really want a pair, I'm supposed to be saving for my big trip to London in a few months time but I might have to buy these first!
Number two - Cropped top £12

Crop tops are going to be everywhere this season from high end to high street and I think that this is a perfect example of one. As the top is black it will go with almost anything, I say almost anything because I detest the phrase 'black goes with anything' this is not true! Anyway.. I love the cutout detail on this crop top, also if you team it with a high waisted skirt or a high wasted pair of shorts Then you will be exposing your midriff which is a gorgeous current trend!
Number three - Blouse Topshop £85

Blouses have been very popular for a long time now and I still very strangely don't own one, I think the reason being is that I am quite body conscious and I think the excess material that most blouses include will make me look bigger than I am. However I know I could tuck it into a skirt or jeans or whatever but I am not sure I suit the typical blouse. Back to the point, I have come across this gorgeous coral coloured blouse with intricate gold embellishment from topshop. I think this blouse is astounding, obviously this isn't a casual piece but it is an amazing evening piece.
Number four - Lauren Conrad hi-low chiffon skirt $33
LC Lauren Conrad Hi-Low Chiffon Maxi Skirt
I am so in love with this skirt! The gorgeous coral colour is so on trend and compliments my skin tone well and would look amazing dressed up or down. I also love the cut of the skirt, a short body-con skirt underneath an abundance of coral sheer material that flows down into an asymmetric hem. Also I love the fact it was designed by Lauren Conrad, she is one of my Style icons and a big inspiration, I own her book about style and treat it as a bible!
Number five - Cru-ci-fix me Bambi and Manson shorts £45

Bambi and Manson is a very urban brand consisting mainly of customised shorts, if you haven't heard of them I highly recommend you check out their website! http://www.bambiandmanson.co.uk/shop/ I think out of all of the shorts on the website these are probably the most wearable on a day-to-day basis so they are probably the best value for money. I love how distressed they are and I love the black cross on the front, they give the shorts an urban feel which is something that I look for in clothes because I like to look modern but not too 'street'

Number six - Republic usa scarf £16

Again, I have already said how I love almost everything to do with America and I think this scarf is the cutest thing! I like how it is teamed with a plain white tshirt in the picture as this gives an American vibe because of the stereotypical 'all American girl wearing jeans and tshirt' idea. Also the plain t-shirt shows off the scarf more. There isn't much more to say about this scarf other than it extremely cute and a very worthwhile purchase!
Number seven - Galaxy purple leggings $75 AUD

I have already talked about liking things that have an urban feel to them and I think these leggings have just that, I have seen a lot of people wearing them on Tumblr ( a blog-like website) and I think they're gorgeous! Obviously not something you would wear to a really formal event, nor a really casual one. I also think these are quite youthful in the fact that they would suit teens not people above the age of roughly 19 because they are very 'out there' and 'experimental' which falls more into the teen category. However they are totally gorgeous and I would really love a pair.

Number eight - Aztec print backpack ASOS £35
Image 1 of ASOS Backpack With Aztec Print
This backpack is really cute and could be teamed with almost anything from leggings and a t-shirt to a dress and denim shirt combination. The bag has quite a boho feel and gives off a carefree sort of vibe. The colours are bright and look gorgeous together and the pattern is really cute. I really want a backpack as I have seen people wearing them lately and they look so cute, its such an easy yet gorgeous addition to any casual outfit.
Number nine - cat eye sunglasses Urban outfitters £16.00

This style of sunglasses is going to be popping up everywhere this season, due to their retro feel. I think these ones from Urban Outfitters are the perfect take on the 'Vintage America' trend. I have yet to see if this style of sunglasses suits my face shape, however I am hoping they will because this is a trend I am excited to try out but I want to make it more youthful because at 15 I don't think I am quite old enough to pull off a full fifties look.
Number ten -  Del Ray Mulberry bag £795

This bag is absolutely breathtaking. Mulberry are a worldwide designer brand that create some of the most gorgeous bags I have ever seen. This particular bag is possibly my favourite bag that I have seen produced from Mulberry. I love the colour although it does seem better suited to Autumn but the bag is also going to be available in white which is better suited to summer. The style of the bag is simple but still so elegant, you can imagine clutching this bag with pride as you walk down the highstreet wearing a pair of light denim skinny jeans, neutral, loose-fitting top and slightly over-sized, black blazer with a gorgeous scarf wrapped delicately around your neck. This back screams luxury and elegance and one day I will buy myself a Mulberry!

That concludes my March Fashion wishlist, I hope you have enjoyed reading through and let me know what you think.

My March Beauty wishlist 2012

This is a new idea I have had, every month I will post a current Fashion and then a separate Beauty wishlist. It will consist of 10 new products, accessories or garments that I would love to own, they will consist of designer and high street things (Fashion wishlist) or Drugstore or high end products (Beauty wishlist), enjoy :)

Number one - MUA BB cream £4

I have already written a blog post about this new product, So I will sum it up in a few sentences. The BB cream is supposedly a foundation, concealer and primer all in one, it comes in three shades light, medium and dark. Two shades can be blended together to create a tone perfect for you. I can't wait to try this because BB creams are currently filling up the shelves, and the MUA BB cream is a cheap way to join in with this trend.

Number two - Rimmel Wake me up foundation £6

I saw this foundation advertised and thought it looked pretty good, I got some testers in a few magazines and I loved the way it felt on my skin, almost as though I'm not wearing any foundation, however sadly the testers were not my shade :( So I will hopefully pop into the nearest Superdrug or Boots during the half term and find the perfect shade for me. The foundation includes SPF 15 which is good for protecting your skin against the sun on a daily basis, also it contains illuminating radiant pearls to enhance a natural glow.

Number three - Nicki and Ricky for viva glam MAC £13.50

Again, I have already made a post about this product but it absolutely has to be in my wishlist because it is almost perfect. It is created by MAC, one of my favourite make up brands worldwide, it is a viva glam products therefore the profits go to a charity which provides help and research for those suffering from AIDS, It is Nicki Minaj and I love all things Nicki Minaj, and Finally The colour is amazing, a bright pink that will look gorgeous with smokey eyes or a natural look. I cannot give this product enough praise!

Number four - Rimmel waterproof gel liner £5-£7

This Gel liner is definitely something I want to try out, I have never used a gel liner before and I am quite excited to. the advantage of a gel liner is that you have greater control over the lines and it isn't as runny as liquid liner but it is smoother than kohl pencil. This particular gel liner is good because Rimmel is a well trusted brand that offers good quality products at a reasonable price, also the applicator is the lid which I think is a really good idea. Therefore this product makes it on to my wishlist

Number five - Maybelline dream nude airfoam foundation £6-8

This product makes it onto my wishlist because it's original. I haven't seen a foundation like this. This foundation is advertised as weightless, I think this is second most important factor of a foundation (First being that it looks natural) because if I'm wearing a foundation that feels thick and cakey I don't feel confident. Due to the fine pigments in the formula it gives a perfect natural look and also has SPF 16 included in the formula.
Number six - Maybelline the falsies volum' express flared mascara £6-8

All of the reviews I have read about this mascara say amazing things about it, I have heard it isn't flakey, it maintains full looking lashes throughout the day and it makes even the dullest of lashes seem bright and curled. The packaging is very cute with the pair of little angel wings on the lid and I love the colour of the bottle.

Number seven - Chanel Le Vernis Nail polish in shade Distraction £17.50

This shade especially for Spring/Summer 2012 is gorgeous! Chanel nail polishes are renowned for their high quality finish and gorgeous limited edition colours and this shade looks as though it will definitely live up to expectations. The shade 'distraction' is very in this season and would look great matching one colour from a bright floral top or clashing with a pastel toned ensemble.

Number eight - MAC Haute and Naughty lash £18

This MAC mascara looks absolutely gorgeous. First of all the packaging is so cute, both of my favourite colours (pink and purple) and included on the bottle, I love the glittery purple section! Second of all the mascara is good value as you are getting almost two in one, you can choose whether you want natural or dramatic lashes and then use the appropriate wand. The idea of this product is genius! I have heard and read many reviews about this product and people only have good things to say about it, that's why this mascara has made it on my wishlist.
Number nine - NARS Pro Prime Multi-Protect primer £24

I have never tried or even held a NARS product, not because I dislike them or anything like that it's simply the fact they are not within my budget or reach. However this primer has some amazing reviews and was recently rated 5 stars and the best primer in the Beauty tester section of 2nd April 2012 NOW magazine, the tester stated 'my make up looked as fresh in the evening as it did in the morning' I have never used a primer and this to me does sound like a worthwhile investment, the aim of a primer is to allow your make up to not only stay on all day but to be applied to the skin easily without clogging pores and the reviews on this primer tell me it does just that.

Number ten - Sephora Moonshadow baked palette - In the nude $50

This palette is a luxurious piece of heaven. The colours in this are extravagant, the quality is divine and the uses of this palette are endless. I am totally and endlessly in love with this palette and I saved it until last on my wishlist because it is my absolute favourite. With the colours in this palette you could create a natural look enhancing the colours and angles of your eyes or you could create a bold look using some of the tones. If I could only use one palette for the rest of my life I would most definitely choose this one. The reason I do not already own this gorgeous palette is that the brand 'Sephora' is not accessible in the United Kingdom :( So until I finally go to America I am palette-less :( However to end on a positive note one day I shall own this marvellous palette and when I do I will review it to it's true glory!

I hope you have enjoyed my beauty wishlist of March 2012! Hopefully this will become a monthly post if it gets positive feedback.
